Are you standing in the kitchen at four o’clock pm, wondering what’s for dinner AGAIN? Maybe you’ve recently been diagnosed with autoimmune disease and are trying to manage symptoms with a dietary change. Maybe your kid has food allergies. Maybe you have an eczema or reflux baby and the doctor suggested cutting out gluten and dairy. Chances are, you’re overwhelmed. There’s so much noise!

Whole30, AIP, GAPS, SCD, gluten-free, dairy-free…. the list goes on. How do you sort through the glut of information, find what works for you, and not lose your mind doing it?

I do not have the answers for your life. What I do have is almost a decade of experience managing chronic illness with dietary changes, feeding my family on a single income budget, and trying to do it in a sustainable way.

I won’t tell you this is going to be easy. It probably won’t be. But it’s possible.

What you will find here:

  • “Everything free” recipes using normal grocery store ingredients1

  • Meal plan resources that maximize food, while minimizing prep work

  • Additional resources on health topics from a non-expert standpoint — the information I’ve spent hours researching, the studies I’ve read, the things I’ve tried.

  • A compassionate friend who’s cried in the kitchen, felt the overwhelm, been desperate to feel better and wondered what she’s doing more times than she can count.

  • I’m a Christian. I’ll talk about it because it’s what gives me hope. I’d love to have you here, no matter your background. Spiritual bypassing is not my thing and we allow and encourage the expression of a full spectrum of emotions around here.

What you won’t find here:

  • Judgement about health choices. I will tell you up front that I lean pretty hard towards crunchy, but I’m not a legalist.

  • Evangelism of any one dietary framework. We’ve tried a lot of things. Most therapeutic diets work well for some people, but not others. Food is bio-individual. I truly believe that the widest variety of food you can eat, while still maintaining quality of life, is the best diet for you.

  • Bird-like appetites. We eat a lot in our house. The recipes and tips I share are designed for filling growing boys’ bellies and keeping this nursing mom from getting hangry.

  • Medical Advice. I am not a doctor, nurse, medical professional, lactation consultant, mental health provider, nutritionist, homeopath, or naturopath. The information and resources on this website and any email correspondence are for information purposes only, they are not intended to take the place of medical advice and should not be used to diagnose or treat any medical condition. About paid subscriptions

The objective in putting material behind a paywall in this space is twofold. First, it’s vulnerable to talk about health in a personal and transparent way on the Internet. Reserving some of these topics for folks with a vested interest honors my own story. Second, I value the work I’m putting into this project, the time I’ve spent to learn these things and what it has cost me to learn them. My goal is to create resources that will help you save the price of your subscription in grocery costs. If cost is truly an issue but you’d benefit from these resources, shoot me an e-mail and let’s talk.
